Make-A-Wish

This organization is dedicated to trying to grant the wishes of all children who have been diagnosed with a serious illness, not just cancer. They started in the United States, but today they are worldwide.

There are hospitals that can give you the application to fill out so they can grant your child’s wish. If they don’t have this information, you can go directly to their website for your region to start the process. For my son, they didn’t last very long. I sent the application through the website in April and by July his wish was granted.

When you send your application, you do need to put in some information about the place where your child is receiving treatment and the doctors. I imagine this is because there has been a lot of fraud over the time they have been doing this. They have been doing this since the 1980s.

I do recommend them to lift your son’s spirits. It helped my child a lot in his mental and emotional state. Aside from his wish, they also put him on a list where they invite him to different activities and events that they organize for all the children. This is more likely at the local state sectors that they offer the activities. These events also continue even after he is out of treatment.

wish.org is the site and from there you can click on ‘refer a child’ to start the process for your child.
